FOUNDATION
The floating foundation is based on the Dutch Docklands patented method for creating floating building ground.
The pontoons are built from prefabricated concrete beams with Extruded Polystyrene foam blocks placed in between to provide buoyancy (and are therefore unsinkable!) A reinforced concrete deck slab is then cast on top to complete the foundation. Once the foundation has been completed the steel modular parking superstructure is constructed.
