On the 2nd of February 2007 Dutch Docklands presented together with Royal Haskoning some possibilities for the new masterplan in the Netherlands: “Floating City IJmeer”.
A floating city will be a solution for the lack of space in the “Randstad” and will have no hindrance of the sea-level rise. This future floating city will have 60.000 new houses and several public places. The realisation of the project is expected between 2012 and 2016.
